He looks like a muscle monster you have never seen!
The moment you take your eyes on Kali you might want to rub your eyes for a couple of seconds.
It’s not an exaggeration.
The guy has been slaying the internet since his breakout from the Geico Ad and the rest is history. He runs his own YouTube channel by the name of Kali Muscle and has a whopping 1.8 million subscribers as of this day.
He also shared his story in a short documentary on the Strength Project.
Story of Kali
Kali used to be that regular guy in his past who was moving in a direction where one day he will have to pay for it big-time. He had been living with people he shouldn’t have, doing all sorts of things that would get him into troubles.
He was an inmate in the California State Prison for a robbery and was sentenced for 11 years.
It is actually where it all started for Kali and to turn his life around he used prison facility in a way that many wouldn’t even think about. It is Kali’s background of prison which makes him so unique in today’s bodybuilding scene.
Why going to prison made Kali a unique Bodybuilder?
Whenever you see any prison scene in a movie or a movie based on the prison culture you will notice inmates doing heavy bench presses, and a lot of other heavyweight stuff.
So this tells us about the prison culture that in their culture they tend to enjoy bodybuilding. Kali as usual fall in love with the aspects of the bodybuilding while his time in prison and started to gain a good amount of muscle.
He was not alone, there were other inmates who were also getting bulked alongside him.
Kali and other inmates building muscle wasn’t a good news for the cops and they evacuated all the equipment from the prison facility. I would like to call this as a turning point, or a twist, or solid drama, whatever you would like to call it, believe me when I say this was actually a brilliant unintentional move by the cops in the favor of Kali.

The workout regime that he developed after losing all the equipment is actually what made his brand unique and so popular amongst the amateur bodybuilders. Now what he did was he developed prison exercises along with his band of inmates.
They started using each other as weights and went to the length of adopting any object which has some weighted value in it. I mean these guys were clearly extremely passionate and there is no question about it.
This is what motivated men do especially in bodybuilding they push themselves to the extreme levels of optimism. This all turned out be a lot of experimentation with the exercises, a journey of Kali where he unleashed certain truths of the muscle building which in his opinion people are not aware of.
Due to this he has been able to develop various detailed workout plans, routines, and also focusing on diet. His background is the sole reason behind his non-conventional training methods and his brand, in particular, has got different and unique set of programs for people who wish to obtain certain body levels according to their liking.
Kali’s Arguments and Philosophy
#01 – Go Organic
Now looking at Kali’s physical structure many would straightaway think that this dude is definitely been on steroids or other unnatural ways. But the truth of the matter is Kali actually doesn’t endorse steroids or any other controversial ways of bodybuilding.
He believes that muscle should be gained by practicing organic and natural methods of bodybuilding. Kali claims that he himself has not used such non-organic methods and this led to a controversy about how this might not be true. But till date, Kali has stayed true to his words.
#02 – Muscle Tension
Kali in many of his videos claims that you don’t need to go all the way down with the machine and just rather focus on the tension that muscles should have in order to gain muscle.
It’s sort of like the resistance training concept of the bodybuilding, resistance training, in particular, is highly used in general form of workouts as people who go gyms for the goal of staying fit and even spin bikes work on the concept of resistance training.

If all this wasn’t enough already, this guy made his way into Hollywood, doing movies you surely would know about. You must have definitely heard movies called “The Dog Who Saved The Holidays” (2012) and this called the “Wonder Woman” (2011).
Till this date, he starred in nine movies and four TV shows. If you are wondering what type of roles did he play, well that’s easy-peasy and a no-brainer, he played anything that required for a man to be bulked and jacked with a ton of muscle.
He did various roles such as a bodybuilder, bouncer, super soldier, ghoul, and of an inmate.

Kali has been able to spread his influence all over the globe through his informative, entertaining, and inspirational videos. You don’t get 1.8 million subscribers on YouTube just like that, he has worked hard to reach that level.
The demonstrative displays of his workout techniques make him standout amongst his competition. Kali himself said in his introduction for his channel that just don’t expect this about bodybuilding, in fact, you all are in for a good time from my perspective and watching his videos won’t feel like doing a chore.
You can expect comedy, cussing, motivational speeches, lectures on why fitness is important, calisthenics and even his journey with his girlfriend to playing Fortnite and also taking a spicy Ramon eating challenge. He will keep you hooked.
