To start as a beginner you first have to bring in the right motivation. Then you would have the mental strength to work because it is not going to be easy my friend. For the start, rather than directly hitting the floor, try the pushups on the wall instead.
This will help you in gaining a little strength for the final round. When you get familiar with the same, start to move to the ground but take the support of your knees for a few days. Occasionally you will be able to do the proper push and with time and practice, you will be able to increase the count too.

So I started with 3 sets of two repeats because that was the most I was able to do and obviously I was able to find no result. I increased my count to 3,4,5,10,15 and finally landed up at 30.
