Radric Delantic Davis, born February 12, 1980, professionally known as Gucci Mane, is a controversial American rapper credited with pioneering trap music-a hip-hop subgenre.

He released his third and fourth albums, Trap-A-Thon and Back to the Trap House on in 2007. Gucci Mane has released 13 studio albums and over 71 mixtapes throughout his career.

Gucci Mane’s career has been filled with controversies as well as legal issues. Gucci Mane has been charged with drug possession, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, reckless and disorderly conduct, firearm possession as a felon, carrying a concealed weapon, marijuana possession, and other charges.

Following his release from behind bars in May, which was also the day he released his comeback single “First Day Out tha Feds,” Gucci Mane shocked his fans with his new physique. He had reportedly underwent a 100 pound weight loss thanks to a no-carb diet coupled with a strict workout regimen.

Speaking about the 100 pounds weight loss in an Instagram videotaped by wife Keyshia Ka’oir, rapper Gucci Mane stated that “I used to be fat” “For people who ain’t For people who ain’t in shape, people who ain’t healthy, people who need some inspiration, listen: I was 290 pounds, now I’m 190 pounds. I lost 100 pounds. I’m 190 right now. I said I’m 190! So check this out: You can do it if I can do it. Use me for inspiration. ‘Cause I’m seeing a lot ya’ll and y’all look terrible.”

The rapper flexed on Instagram, showing off an amazing new physique. He went from looking quite bloated from eating junk food and codeine to looking fit and healthy. Of course, not everybody believed mane’s incredible transformation, with some clinging to the “Gucci Clone” conspiracy theory.

Gucci Mane’s weight loss marked a turning point in his life. He has since introduced many aspects into his life, including boxing, bike, basketball, working out weights, cardio, and many other activities. In 2016, Gucci Mane told Vogue that his current routine involves working out six days a week, Monday through Saturday, for an hour and a half.

Guwop has also since adopted a healthy lifestyle. He got rid of unhealthy food and vices, including lean. Gucci Mane stated that “I eat squash, which I never ate before, along with zucchini; I eat a lot of cashews, peanuts, bananas, apples, and I love salmon and chicken,” he said in that interview. “I try to eat very clean, and I drink about 120 to 130 ounces of water a day. I mark everything I eat on a chart so I can keep track of my daily intake.”

Gucci Mane claimed to learn to live a better life. Speaking to Vogue, “I used to live a life of excess, greed, and gluttony,” but “Now I’ve learned to challenge myself—to get up every day and push myself to live a healthier lifestyle.”

In addition to getting in better shape, Gucci Mane has also gotten rid of his drug habit.

A Turning Point that Led to Gucci Mane Weight Loss

Speaking to REVOLT, Gucci Mane revealed the turning point that led to his weight loss. The “Wake Up in the Sky,” rapper revealed that the turning point in his weight loss journey arrived during his scandalous September 2013 arrest. The Gucci Mane stated that: “I was drinking pints of lean a week and smoking pounds of weed and just doing all kinds of drugs,” “The whole way I was handling myself before I went to jail was just so negative [and] it showed in my body.”

But when he was arrested, it dawned on him that he needed to transform his lifestyle. “The day that I got arrested and stopped doing drugs, eventually it started to dawn on me that [I] had to start taking better care of myself before I [wind] up back in the same situation,.” “Getting all those substances out my body made me able to realize that listen, you got to work out, you got to eat better.”

How Did Gucci Mane Manage to Pull Off Epic 100-Pound Weight Loss Transformation in Prison?

What’s more stunning about Gucci Mane’s weight loss journey is that it all happened behind bars. On December 3, 2013, Gucci Mane was charged in a federal court with two counts of possessing a firearm and a felon. He served his sentence in the United States Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana. On May 26, 2016, Gucci Mane was freed from prison earlier than the scheduled date and posted a photo on Instagram showing off 100-pound weight loss.

But how did Guwop manage to undergo such a transformation in prison? Gucci Mane has openly admitted that his incarceration enables him to get on the right path as he stopped taking drugs and started training.

In a 2017 interview with Revolt, Gucci Mane talked about his body transformation and how he achieved incredible success. He revealed that he began eating a no-carb diet while in prison and that he was training daily.

In jail, Gucci reportedly started a routine focusing on prayer and reading books-in particular, the Bible and books on self-development by Tony Robbins and Deepak Chopra.

In essence, a regimen consisting of eating healthy, drinking water, exercise, reading, and cutting drug abuse enabled Gucci to shed 75 pounds while in prison.

Kicking Out Drugs

Cutting out drug use was instrumental in Gucci Mane weight loss journey. In an interview with The New York Times, Gucci admitted that he was a drug addict before his incarnation. He started smoking weed and drinking alcohol as far back as his teenage years. At the age of 21 years, the rapper began drinking lean.

He told the New York Times that “I felt like I couldn’t make music sober, I couldn’t enjoy my money sober. Why would I wanna go to a club and couldn’t smoke or drink? I felt like sex wouldn’t be good sober. I associated everything with being high. In hindsight I see it for what it was: I was a drug addict. I was naïve to the fact that I was numb.”

Drug abuse, including drinking dirty Sprite and regular consumption of prescription cold medication, have intense side effects, notably extreme weight. Gucci Mane revealed in an interview that he took Styrofoam “at least once a day” for six or seven years-the major reasons he had gained excessive weight. “I was bloated and overweight, I was almost 290 pounds,” Gucci said.

Quitting drugs use was not easy but was critical in Gucci Mane 100-pound weight loss and healthy living. In an interview on Highly Questionable, Gucci Mane was asked by host Dan Le Batard to describe the process of abstaining from drugs. He described the drug rehabilitation process as “indescribable” and “terrible, terrible pain,” The rapper equated the rehab process to painful starving.
