What is Fasted Cardio?

Cardio exercise target on burning the calories you have stored in your body. Fasted cardio means doing cardio on an empty stomach so that the already stored calories in your body can be burned.

If you workout after you have had a meal or have eaten anything, it means that your body is still in process of breaking the food. This also means that your insulin levels are high at the given point in time.

If you are working out after you have eaten a pastry, then while working your body would be burning the calories from the pastry and not the stubborn fat stored on your belly or your calves muscle.

This is why, to gain actual benefits out of your cardio workout, you should work on an empty stomach or at least 4-5 hours after you have eaten anything.

Benefits of Fasted Cardio

Here is the list of benefits of Fasted Cardio. We hope it convinces you to give a try to the fasted cardio. We have explain each and every point. Almost everything you need to know about fasted cardio.

#01 – Faster fat burning

It takes your body around 4 to 5 hours to process the food you have eaten and then the body reaches the state of fasting. While reaching the state, the body has already burned down all the sugar storage of the body and it is then it starts burning down fat for energy production. It converts the body fat into ketone bodies that act as fuel for the body.

If you workout in this process, you are likely to burn more fat at a faster speed. When the body is in fasting state, it will act directly on the stubborn fat that is stuck on your belly, arms, cheeks, chin, calves muscle, etc.

#02 – Lower insulin levels

While a person is sleeping, their insulin level drops down. Thus when you wake up from your good night sleep, your insulin levels are at the lowest which makes it the perfect time to work out.

Insulin is the oxidation factory of fat cells in the body and by blocking the insulin rising you are killing these fat cells.

#03 – Improves athletic performance

Working out or practicing athletic is a serious job for the body. The body has to use a great amount of energy while doing both.

Imagine you are running someday while you are at your practice and suddenly your body gives up because the sugar storage of the body has ended and there is only fat present. Your body won’t be able to use fat for energy usage as the body is not trained for the same.

Our bodies are used to produce energy out of the sugar that comes out of food. But it is important for an athletic person to be able to use fat as an energy producer.

This will burn the extra fat and will help the person perform better.
