James Bond, Sherlock, Tony Stark, or John Wick are often given the tag of being the alpha male, but we often forget they all are fiction.
There is no harm in being inspired with them, but the endless imagination or desperation of becoming them is something I find it to be sick. Alpha male personality is a work of fiction, and it has absolutely zero significance in the real world.
The idea of who qualifies to be an alpha male
Alpha Male Personality
He is the bravest of all – The man doesn’t feel afraid of anyone no matter what comes his way, even a dragon who has got the power of spitting fire.
I agree that was way too farfetched, but the idea says that an alpha male would tackle a situation like this with his presence of mind or his power, and with that comes the additional burden of being muscular.
He is a Hunk – He is expected to have a physique like of no other in his pack.
He has got a charming face – He should have a face that pleases everybody’s eyes.
He is a ladies man – This was a given, why even should I consider writing this.
He never gives up – No matter what he has got the mindset of the last man standing amongst the crowd.
Voice – The baritone of Morgan Freeman or any other manly voice.
He is funny too – He knows how to makes people laugh off their asses.
He got stories to tell – He has lived an adventurous life, and hence he got stories to tell.
He has a purpose in life – He has missions for his life that are supposed to be something great and impressive.
Every man likes him – Any guy supposedly will not refuse to spend time with him because he is compatible or I don’t know what he is.
He can laugh at himself – This is something I appreciate, the self-deprecating humor.
These are the essential qualities that an alpha male possess according to the popular idea.
Why this idea of alpha male can’t exist?
We all have witnessed a man who might be popular in high school or college or men who rule in the department of the ladies, but what should be paid attention to is was there a single man who possessed all of the qualities mentioned above. Your count will come down to four or five or maybe even less.
One thing to argue is that the count is still there. Now I will tell you why even they aren’t the so-called alpha males.
We all live in different cultures, states, religion, or something or the other makes us different. What is liked by you might not be liked by the other as a candidate for being an alpha male?
Let’s take an example which will make you understand the way I want you to.
Telling stories – Your friend told you a real-life story or an instance which you find it to be either amusing, thrilling, courageous, or entertaining but what are the odds of someone living next to you might find any of these to be funny.
The sense of humor – What are the chances of an alpha male according to you impress two different girls laugh with the same pick-up line!?
Man’s Man – Is your alpha male competent enough to give a company to every other man in the world or even in the same classroom as yours!?
The answer to these questions can be anything but what we can derive is that we all are different creatures with complex brains. Yes, there are particular examples of such alpha males in water animals and other creatures but not in humans.
Are all the qualities unnecessary?
No. I don’t want to go hard on all of them. Yes, some of the things are something, which can be inculcated for building a positive mindset, but some of them will demotivate or create a psychological pressure of being perfect all the time.
Instead, we should be changing the definition of who is an alpha male. A short guy who is okay with going on a date with a girl taller than him should be an alpha male.
Nelson Mandela should be considered as an alpha male. Although many of the men I name is going to be subjective and most importantly we all individually will be deciders of who motivates us.
But any day I do not support the idea of somebody being perfect who doesn’t have any fear or even inhibitions. Be free in deciding according to you who is an alpha male but not by the idea that has been sold over the years.
I am even in support of eradicating the term finally because such a man to my knowledge doesn’t exist as per the idea accepted by society.
We all are merely men who, yes, do have specific characteristics biologically which represent them but they are no way perfect like the so-called alpha male personality.
We as men explore daily about ourselves by learning new dimensions of ourselves. We mare tend to make mistakes, hurt others, love others, and everything in between.
